After three years with ManTech, it’s time for me to move on. I’ve received an offer from RedJack, which offers me pretty much everything I’ve ever asked for in a job: nice and smart co-workers, interesting problems, and good pay.
I have not yet returned a signed letter to RedJack, so … it is still technically possible for everything to go higgledy-piggledy, or for ManTech to make an excellent counteroffer, or what-have-you — but having a signed offer letter in my hand makes me feel that now is an appropriate time to tell people about things.
I’d like to make something really clear: I am not leaving ManTech because my co-workers stopped being nice and smart, or anything else like that. My vision of what my career path should be stopped being in line with ManTech’s vision of my career path: that’s all. I’m leaving there with ill-will towards none and a grateful heart towards a whole hell of a lot.
Sometimes — not often, but sometimes — sometimes the nice guys finish first. It’s a blessing to work here, and it’s a blessing to leave here to work there, too.
